On the Road

Happy to be photographing Ironman Arizona

While photographing a friends' rehersal dinner in Mexico, I jumped into the ring to have a little fun.

Big Papi stopped by to say hi while I was photographing Lance throwing out the first pitch at Fenway.

Photographing the finish line photographers at the Tour of Missouri.

Taking in the beautiful scenery at the Giro d'Italia

Trying to keep warm and lenses dry at the bobsled venue at the Olympics in Torino with my new buiddy Cat.

I was happy here, but this turned out to be one of the scariest shooting days of my carreer...I forgot my crampons to use on the mountain for the Men's Slalom in Torino. Thank goodness for my buddy Erich Schlegel...He kicked a ledge in the ice and fastened my chest vest into the blue fencing. My butt went numb because I couldn't move. The whole day I was scared I would slip and take the fencing and photographers down the mountain with me. Needless to say I never forgot my crampons again!

Photographing Ironman Lake Placid, NY...That smile is more a look of terror...I did not like my driver that day.

Flying to Mexico to photograph the Baja 1000...That race is insane!

Up early for the Baja 1000...Yes, I took the hood off my 300. I didn't drop anything, but next time I shoot from a helicopter all bodies will be attached to me and no switching lenses. I also learned it is much easier to photograph from the back seat.

Having tea at a pre-olympics photographer party.

Getting ready to shoot the fireworks during opening ceremonies of the Beijing games with Erich Schlegel, Smiley Pool and another photographer. It would have been good to know that the finial fireworks were going to be over our heads and not the Bird's Nest...We were covered in ashes and my hair almost caught fire.

A "couple" other photographers had the same assignment.

Swimming was one of my favorite events to shoot.

One of the photographers pits at the "Cube"

Erich, Helen and I wanna be like Mike

Waiting for the road cycling race and trying to find a spot...There are some great photographers in that bunch, but where are all the girls?

With Sal (USA Today) and Tim de Waele at the Great Wall media center...getting ready for the cyclists.

Photographers shooting the cycling race at the Great Wall

Graham and I have this thing about eating pizza together all over the world...Here we are at the Velodrome in Beijing.

"Fun" day in the rain shooting the women's final beach volleyball match...My poncho rain covers worked great.

Erich and I getting ready for Usain Bolt and it was insanely hot...even at 10pm!

Shooting soccer with two of my favorite people/photographers...Simon Bruty (SI) and Doug Mills (NYT)

Waiting for the marathon...Ahhh, we're in the home stretch now!

Met some crazy boxing fans...Um, watch your hand buddy!

Yes, I was officially the last photographer to check out of the media center.

Time for some sightseeing fun

...and some peking duck! Yum

With my Texas Mafia/Texas Crew boys...Rob and Chris in Tenerife Spain at the Astana training camp

Photographing Lance training in Aspen

First time to ride/shoot from the #1 car with Johan at the TDF...Big deal and I was super excited!

Stopping for an espresso during Milan-San Remo with the other photographers...Apparently a tradition...I love this race!

Graham and I eating pizza on a curb in France at about 11pm after filing for the day...It was the only restaraunt open (shocker I know)

Graham and I eating again in Milan...Hmmm...I see a theme here.

In Paris on the Champs Elysees photographing the Tour de France...with Charlie!

Done with a shoot...hooray! Yes, I was a cheerleader and no this wasn't photoshopped (just a very flattering angle!)

On the Champs with Lance at the 1999 Tour de France

And ten years later...Excited to head home after a fun Tour Down Under.
